Ya
Devi Mahatmyam or the Durga Saptashati consists of 700 verses in praise of
Goddess Durga. Each of these verses
describes the glory and magnificence of the Divine Mother. “Ya Devi Sarva Bhuteshu……” is among the most
widely known shlokas from the Saptashati.
The verses of the shloka beautifully hail Goddess Durga who dwells in
devotees’ hearts and minds in various forms.
As one recites the sholka, one pays tribute to the Goddess who takes the
form of power and peace and worships Her as the Mother of all earthly beings.
