Saraswati Namastubhyam

Saraswati Namastubhyam

Goddess Saraswati, the divine consort of Lord Brahma, is believed to be the custodian of art and education.  Seated gracefully on a lotus flower, She is believed to be one who bestows intellect and knowledge.  She holds the musical instrument Veena which is said to be a symbol of various forms of art.  “Saraswati Namastubhyam” is a prayer that pays tribute to Her glory.  While reciting the shloka, one offers obeisance to the Goddess and seeks knowledge and success in all endeavours.  The verses of the shloka describe Her as the one who showers blessings and grants all the wishes of devotees.
