Shakti is believed to be the Mother of all earthly beings. It is said that she protects the entire universe with her benevolence and grace. A shloka that hails the Divine Mother is “Sarva Mangala Mangalye…” – verse that it taken from the Devi Mahatmyam, also known as Devi Saptashati. By reciting the verses, one worships the Goddess by describing Her as the essence of nobility and the embodiment of everything auspicious. One offers salutations and surrenders to the Goddess who is believed to fulfill the wishes of Her devotees.
